Healthily eating and regular exercise greatly reduces your risk of developing the signs of diabetes, regardless of the diabetes types in question. The symptoms of diabetes are always improved through consumption of nutritious, water-rich food and daily physical activity.

What causes diabetes?

Diabetes mellitus type II is caused by inadequate nutrition, overconsumption of high-fat foods, lacking exercise standards and a basic misrepresentation of health over years. Diabetes type 2 does not just happen overnight. In most instances, diabetes mellitus type 2 and gestational diabetes are the results of year after year of self-neglect. The facts are that we eat terribly-inefficient foods and we have become a physically inactive society. In fact, over one quarter of all Americans are labeled as completely sedentary.

What are the signs of diabetes?

The signs or symptoms of diabetes are as follows:

Being constantly thirsty; Having to urinate far too often; Never-ending hunger accompanied by unintentional weight loss; Dry skin and/or itchy skin; Tingling extremities; “Velvet-like” skin on your neck or underarms; Weakness and becoming easily fatigued; Being grouchy or irritable for no good reasons; Having difficulties waking from sleep; Bedwetting; Headaches; Nausea and/or vomiting; Blurry vision; Inability to focus mentally; More…

If you ignore the signs of diabetes for long enough and actually develop Type 2 diabetes mellitus, then you are going to need to seek medical assistance and drastically change your lifestyle. It is far better to manage the symptoms of diabetes before you ever have to. Remember that the things that are the causes of diabetes are the same as what you need to reverse the symptoms of diabetes. They are:

A diet that is mainly comprised of water-rich food sources – i.e. plants; Proper eating habits including portion sizes, proper carbohydrate levels and preset eating times; Daily physical activity that gets your heart pumping for at least 20 minutes or so; A stress management program that you employ constantly; Learning to see food as fuel instead of convenient pleasure;

Always remember that the signs of diabetes are able to be spotted, dealt with and reversed – at least in the vast majority of cases. If you feel that you may exhibiting any of the symptoms of diabetes, then schedule a visit with your physician and discuss them with him or her.

Symptoms and signs of diabetes left untreated for extended time periods can lead to:

Blindness; Kidney failure; Amputation of extremities; Nerve damage throughout the body; Heart disease; Strokes; Coma; Premature death;

Take the signs of diabetes seriously and deal with them expeditiously. Your health is your own responsibility and only you can know for sure how you are feeling. A water-rich diet and daily exercise are the keys to the prevention of diabetes mellitus Type 2.

“You take too much sugar and sweets, you will probably get diabetes!”

Isn’t this familiar? You probably get this from your relatives and friends.

However, this is a common misconception among people that eating candy, foods high in sugars and other “unhealthy” foods is the cause of diabetes. Having a sweet tooth does not mean that you will end up with diabetes. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you can go gorging on desserts and sweet things. Too much of anything is probably not healthy in the long run. If you are eating only sweet stuff day in and day out and not getting nutritional food, this sort of a bad diet can probably lead to diabetes eventually.

So what are the true causes of diabetes?

To learn about the cause of diabetes, we need to understand diabetes. There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Each sub-type has diverse causes and affect people of varied ages. Doctors and researchers all over the world still have not found out the real cause of type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is also called juvenile diabetes, diabetes mellitus, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, sugar diabetes or brittle diabetes. This type of diabetes is usually found in children and young adults, characteristically those below the age of thirty are found to have this type of the bad health.

It is believed that genetics play a major part of why some people are predisposed to growing type 1 diabetes. Another suspected cause of type 1 diabetes is when the body begin to attack the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. This results in the body not producing insulin anymore. Researchers and doctors are not sure why this occurs.

There is nothing that can be done to prevent type 1 diabetes, it is an autoimmune sickness.

A person who has type 2 diabetes still produces insulin but develops a resistance to insulin. Tissues in the body, such as muscles, do not respond to insulin and cannot use insulin to utilise glucose properly in the blood. Other organs such as the liver, along given the usual insulin-producing organ: the pancreas will increase insulin production. Finally the pancreas is unable to produce any more insulin and the tissues become even more insulin resistant.

How to lower your risk of growing Type 2 Diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes are usually casued by unhealthy lifestyle and eating habits. Those who are fat and physically inactive are at risk of this sickness. Especially those who have fat that is concentrated on the tummy. This type of diabetes usually affects people later in life usually around 52 and is often called late-onset diabetes. Recent statistics however, indicates that the average age of diagnosis is becoming lower as lifestyle habits change. If you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, there is an increased chance of developing this disease.

To lower your risk, you really need to maintain a nutritious diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables including a regular exercise.

Science does not have an answer as to why the pancreas stops making insulin, or why when it is produced the body is resistant to it. We do know that a mutant gene handed down from long ago ancestors may be responsible. Other possible causes include:

Genetics

Obesity/potbelly

Stress

Physical inactivity

Pancreatic infections

Elevated Serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels

You will find that most risk factors responsible for diabetes, also are factors that exist for heart disease.

Diabetes is due to insulin that is either insufficient or ineffective leading to increased blood glucose levels. This leads to symptoms of polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (excessive thirst). Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas. When glucose levels are elevated, insulin changes glucose into energy that the body can use for fuel.

Inefficient insulin and it’s affect on the body:

When insulin is produced but the body fails to use it appropriately, it is said the body is resistant to insulin. A second reaction is when the body does not produce enough insulin to change glucose into energy. In both cases the insulin is inefficient and causes blood glucose levels to rise in the blood.

Is it curable?

Presently no, but there are several exciting and experimental procedures being performed that are showing high success rates. these procedure include;

Pancreatic Transplant: For those with uncontrolled Type 1 DM, but have a functioning kidney. Thankfully, these patients no longer need insulin injections to keep them alive. Additionally, their risks for developing complications associated with diabetes is greatly decreased.

Kidney/Pancreas Transplant: Reserved for patients who have substantial kidney failure, as well as uncontrolled Type 1 diabetes. This surgical procedure allows the patient to be free of dialysis treatments and insulin injections. Patients who avoid rejecting their organs in the first year after surgery, have a greater likelihood of non-rejection for 10 years and more.

Islet Transplants: This procedure is currently in clinical trials and involves replacing the bad Islets Of Langerhans with good islets from a deceased donor. Islets of Langerhans are the insulin producing beta cells of the pancreas. The islets are extracted from the donor pancreas and injected into the liver of the receiver. The cells start manufacturing insulin which works to regulate blood sugar levels.

All of these procedures are currently experimental and are not yet approved by the FDA. In a study of 36 patient who received islet transplant, only five remain free of the need for insulin 2 years after their transplant.

The search for better treatments and a cure for diabetes is on-going, and it is hoped that a cure will present itself in the very near future. But until then, lifestyle changes will help those who are living with diabetes to live a long and productive life in spite of having the disease.

Sexual problems are not the easiest problem to discuss, even with your close family. Even confiding in your can be a daunting prospect. In fact, as a result of having diabetes, both men and women may suffer problems with their sex life.

Both men and women with diabetes can develop sexual problems because of damage to nerves and small blood vessels caused by diabetes. The nerves that control internal organs are called autonomic nerves, which signal the body to digest food and circulate blood without a person having to think about it.

The body’s response to sexual stimuli is also involuntary, governed by autonomic nerve signals that increase blood flow to the genitals and cause smooth muscle tissue to relax.

Damage to these autonomic nerves can hinder normal function. Reduced blood flow resulting from damage to blood vessels can also contribute to sexual dysfunction.

The problem may also by psychological because the more you worry about it, the more it affects your sex life.

There are several reasons why men with diabetes may suffer from sexual problems. Some of these problems are no different to those that the general male population might have.

Many men have impotence problems at some point during their lives, especially in their 50’s, 60’s and older. For men with diabetes, these problems can arrive 10 to 15 years earlier than for men without diabetes. Some estimates place the incidence of diabetes-related impotence in men at more than 40 percent.

Not only can this cause problems in a marriage but, more importantly, can cause severe depression in those who are contending not only with the disease of diabetes, but also what they deem the loss of their self esteem.

If a man continues to experience problems, he should discuss the situation with his doctor. Fortunately, there are certain medications and other treatments available to men who experience this common side effect to diabetes, with new medications being introduced.

Women with diabetes may also have sexual problems. Because of damage caused by high levels of blood glucose, dryness can occur that can make intercourse very painful.

Many women also report a complete loss of interest in sex. Needless to say, the lack of sexual desire can cause psychological problems for both men and women and may lead to marital difficulties as well.

Decreased sexual desire can be due to many factors, but one which does relates to women with diabetes is widely fluctuating blood glucose levels. Poor control of blood glucose can lead to tiredness and a lack of interest in sex. Bringing blood glucose control back under control may help restore desire.

Any women who experiences sexual problems or notices a change in sexual response should consider talking to their doctor. The doctor will ask about the patient’s medical history, the type and frequency of sexual problems, what medications she is taking, her smoking and drinking habits, and other health conditions. The doctor will also talk to the patient about blood glucose control.

The good news is that often there are treatments that can help you if you are suffering from diabetes-related sex problems. So, don’t despair, having diabetes shouldn’t mean that your sex life has to suffer.

Men and women’s sexual problems in diabetes may be partly prevented by maintaining good blood glucose levels and by eating a healthy diet. Enjoying regular exercise and taking your prescribed medication or insulin is essential and this will help your sense of wellbeing.

Never put off discussing with your doctor a sexual problem related to diabetes. New medications are now available to help with this problem.

Certain factors that contribute to the development of diabetes are:

Heredity: Heredity is a major factor. That diabetes can be inherited has been known for centuries. However, the pattern of inheritance is not fully understood. Statistic indicates that those with a family history of the disease have a higher risk of developing diabetes than those without such a background. The risk factor is 25 to 33 percent more.

One reason why diabetes, especially type-2 diabetes runs in the family is because of the diabetes gene. But even it is caused by genetic factors beyond your control; there is no reason to suffer from it. Diabetes cannot be cured in full sense of the term, but it can be effectively controlled so that you would not know the difference.

Diet: Diabetes has been described by most medical scientists as a prosperity’ disease, primarily caused by systematic overeating. Not only is eating too much sugar and refined carbohydrates harmful, but proteins and fats, which are transformed into sugar, may also result in diabetes if taken in excess.

It is interesting to note that diabetes is almost unknown in countries where people are poor and cannot afford to overeat. The incidence of diabetes is directly linked with the consumption of processed foods rich in refined carbohydrates, like biscuits, bread, cakes chocolates, pudding and ice creams.

Obesity: Obesity is one of the main causes of diabetes. Studies show that 60 to 85 % of diabetics tend to be overweight. In the United States of America, about 80 percent of type 2 non-insulin dependent diabetics are reported to be overweight.

Excess fat prevents insulin from working properly. The more fatty tissue in the body, the more resistant the muscle and tissue cells become to body insulin. Insulin allows the sugar in the blood to enter the cells by acting on the receptor sites on the surface of the cells.

Older people often tend to gain weight, and the same time, many of them develop and mild form of diabetes because who are over weight can often improve their blood sugar simply by losing weight.

Stress and Tension: There is a known connection between stress and diabetes, those who are under stress and/or lead an irregular lifestyle, need to take adequate precautions and make necessary lifestyle adjustments.

Grief, worry and anxiety resulting from examinations, death of a close relative, loss of a joy, business failure and strained marital relationship, all a deep influence on the metabolism and may cause sugar to appear in the urine.

Smoking: Smoking is another important risk factor. Among men who smoke, the risk of developing diabetes is doubled. In women who smoke 25 or more cigarettes a day, the risk of developing diabetes is increased by 40 percent.

Lifestyle Risk: People who are less active have greater risk of developing diabetes. Modern conveniences have made work easier. Physical activity and exercise helps control weight, uses up a lot of glucose (sugar) present in the blood as energy and makes cells more sensitive to insulin. Consequently, the workload on the pancreas is reduced.

Find complete and updated diabetes information, diabetes supply, diabetes treatment, diabetes diet, diabetes causes, diabetes types. Diabetes is the symptom of a diseased pancreas. Quite different from what is generally believed!!

Pancreas is an organ in the body, which produces Insulin, a hormone which converts glucose from the stomach to energy. When the pancreas is then affected and diseased, the production of insulin is the inhibited (altered) and when this happens diabetes then sets in to inform you that your pancreas is not functioning.

Root Cause For Diabetes: Diabetes cannot be said to have any known and specific cause but, the foods which our modern lifestyle has provided for us are the main reason we experience diabetes.

The beta cells of the pancreas functions well in an alkaline medium but when we eat the modern foods we eat, we provide an acidic medium for the pancreas and in this acidic medium the beta cells of the pancreas produces little insulin and when it continues for so much time, the pancreas breaks down, hence diabetes set in.

An individual who suddenly develops:

Unnecessary tiredness and hunger.

Too much urination.

Dizzyness,

Should have him/herself tested for diabetes. Also people that suffer obesity, hypertension and anybody pass the age of 40 (forty) should have him/herself regularly checked for diabetes.

HOW TO NATURALLY TRIGGER YOUR BODY TO PRODUCE MORE INSULIN.

Diabetes as a symptom of a diseased pancreas can spring up too may complications which include blindness, amputation, kidney failure etc.

Diabetes patient can now relax and feel happy because an amazing, recent finding has been made which would definitely trigger the immune system of a diabetes patient to produce more insulin and help the body maintain a stable alkaline medium for a healthy panaceas.

The finding is an all-natural process which prescribes selective fruits which will do the magic.

In diabetes, it would cause glucose blood levels in the blood to increase. The causes for diabetes aren’t known clearly.

There are some factors that might lead to the diabetes. These factors are known as the risk factors and one should try overcoming them in order to avoid getting affected by diabetes. Diabetes isn’t contagious, so you need not worry about you getting it if anyone in the family has it.

Type 1 diabetes

The type 1 of diabetes is believed to be autoimmune disease. The cells present in pancreas making insulin are destroyed that causes a huge loss of insulin. It’s thought as a result of body attacking also destroying the cells present in the pancreas that are known as autoimmune reaction. The reason for its occurrence isn’t clear as of now.

However, there are several explanations also possible triggers for this reaction which are proposed. These would include the infection with certain specific bacteria or a virus. It would also include an exposure to the food-borne chemicals. It would also include an exposure as young infant to the cow’s milk where an unidentified component of it triggers auto immune’s reaction in body. However, there is an only hypothesis and aren’t proven causes by any means.

Predisposition for developing the type 1 diabetes might run in the families. However, genetic cause for the diabetes is more commonly found in the type 2 diabetes. The environmental factors that encourage diabetes include common unavoidable infections, viral ones.

This type of diabetes is mostly found in the people of the non-Hispanic, the northern European decent and is followed by the African Americans also the Hispanic Americans. It’s rarely found in the Asian descents. It is more of common amongst men than in the women.

Type 2 diabetes

The type 2 diabetes is mostly believed to occur when there is inadequate amount of insulin in the body. It also develops when receptors on the cells in body which usually respond to actions of the insulin failure which is stimulated by it. This is called as insulin resistance. In response to this, more amounts of insulin could be produced and the over production of the insulin manufacturing the cells in pancreas. Diabetes type 2 also occurs when available insulin is abnormal and does not work out properly.

Obesity, physical inactivity and increasing age usually increase the chances of diabetes type 2 to develop. Consumption of high fat diet, intake of alcohol, being overweight, sedentary lifestyle, high blood triglyceride levels, could cause type 2 diabetes.

Those who are closely relative to those who had type two of diabetes or the gestational diabetes, certain groups like the Native Americans, Japanese Americans, Hispanic Americans, African Americans have a high risk of developing this type of diabetes as compared to the non-Hispanic whites. Increasing age too is a significant factor for the type 2 diabetes.

Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are different because they are both affected by insulin deficiency differently. A Type 1 diabetic is unable to produce insulin altogether whilst a Type 2 diabetic is ether not able to use insulin at they should be able to, or they cannot create insulin in sufficient quantities to live without insulin injections. People with Type 2 diabetes are by far the most common, with around 19 out of 20 people falling into this category. The causes of diabetes has remained somewhat of a mystery for some time, however many say that the cause of diabetes could be something genetic and childhood infection is also proposed as another potential, yet unconfirmed, reason why diabetes could be caused.

One thing is that the profile of a Type 2 diabetes sufferer is generally someone overweight, however this is seen as being slightly different from Type 1 because the weight issues could account for why insulin is not created in sufficient quantities, but this could not be the reason why a person could be completely incapable of creating it.

During times when someone is run-down, either through physical exertion or illness, a person can alter from having Type 1 diabetes to having Type 2 diabetes. For this reason, it is often the case that people are asked to undertake a rigorous exercise and dieting schedule to combat this.

Potential (unconfirmed) Causes of Diabetes

Type 1

Infection induced by a certain bacteria

Exposure to Toxins through food consumption

Cow Milk at too Young an Age

Type 2

As you get older you are statistically more likely to get it

Obesity

Physical Inactivity

What Are the Myths Associated With Diabetes?

Years upon years ago it was believed within certain spheres that diabetes is contagious. It is now safe to confirm that this is certainly not the case. Despite that, there is speculation that it could be a genetic condition, which could lead people to believe that they contracted it from family members from blood, sweat, touching etc. Evidence that it could be genetic comes from trends of diabetes running in families; however this could be a result of similar environments and lifestyle rather than through ones genes.

Stress is often claimed to be a catalyst for diabetes however there is no evidence to suggest that this is indeed the case. Despite the fact that stress does not cause diabetes it could be a reason for Type 1 diabetes turning into Type 2 diabetes or the effects of diabetes being worse on a given day than another.

Eating an excess amount of sugar will not cause someone to contract diabetes. However, that is not to say that it could not indirectly. This means that eating too much sugar could cause a person to put on weight, which could in turn lead to poor health which could, potentially, cause diabetes. It is said that type 2 diabetes could potentially be caused by obesity. Although not directly, it could be something which could be a contributing factor.

People who chronically over indulge in sugar risk developing is type 11 diabetes. Diabetes is the exact opposite of hypoglycemia, and it is amazing how widespread this condition is. We can now see it in children, where previously it has been a disease of the middle aged and older generations.

Diabetes is caused by the insufficient supply of insulin, too much sugar in the blood, improper cell utilization of insulin, or a combination of these factors. When the pancreas becomes exhausted by the constant demand of manufacturing insulin to convert all that sugar into heat and energy, the pancreas finally malfunctions and the excess sugar then pollutes the bloodstream. Without insufficient insulin to produce glucose, the body is deprived of an essential food and the diabetic remains hungry no matter how much he or she eats. Sugar accumulates in the bloodstream faster than the body can excrete it through the urine, and the victim is literally poisoned. The diabetic becomes tired, weak, nauseated and depressed.

With lifestyle changes, some type 2 diabetics can reduce or eliminate their insulin requirements altogether. Component of this are exercise, weight control, eating healthful complex carbohydrates and quality protein.

Although both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes deal with insulin, they work differently. In type 1 diabetes, the pancreas no longer produces insulin. While in type 2 diabetes, the pancreas makes insulin, but the body does not make use of it properly.

Why Most People Suffer from Diabetes

. Weight: If one is 20% over a healthy weight or obese, there is the risk of diabetes and possible heart attack. The choice of food you eat has a way of affecting your blood weight. Oversize portions are one of the reasons more and more people are overweight – and increasingly at risk of diabetes. Too many bites equal too many calories.

. Sugar consumption: Consuming sugar is going to adversely affect blood sugar level, which in turn elevate your insulin level and your stress hormones.

. Sedentary Lifestyle: The combination of a healthy diet and regular physical activity such as walking, exercise can help you slim down. This is an important benefit since overweight is a major risk factor for diabetes. But exercise fights diabetes in ways other than weight loss. Studies are just starting to show the preventive power of fitness. The Famed Nurses’ Health study for example, found that women who worked up a sweat more than once a week reduced their risk of developing diabetes by 30%.

Diabetes is a chronic disease. It does not go away, even with treatment. It is also progressive, meaning that if left untreated, it can lead to difficult complications. The good news is that diabetes can be controlled. However, it must be carefully monitored to keep it in control.

Diabetes is a very serious disease and should be treated as such. In nearly all situations, people with diabetes require, at a minimum, routine medical treatment- including daily self-care. Through scrupulous attention to a healthy lifestyle and a strong commitment to maintaining target blood-sugar levels, diabetic people can significantly slow down the degenerative process.

Symptoms of Diabetes

The symptoms of diabetes may develop extremely quickly (over the course of weeks or even days) in children or adolescents who had previously been exhibiting signs of health.

Symptoms of Type 1 diabetes usually arise over weeks and months, as compared to those of Type 2 diabetes that may take years. Although Type 1 diabetics can briefly see mild symptoms similar to the early stages of Type 2 diabetes, the most pronounced symptoms of Type 1 diabetes are usually the more severe symptoms of very high blood sugars and this progress quickly.

Irritability: It is one of the sign of high blood sugar because of the inefficient supply of glucose to brain and other body organs, which make us, feel tired and uneasy.

Diabetes includes fatigue, a sick feeling, frequent urination, especially at night, and excessive thirst. When there is extra glucose in blood, one way the body gets rid of it is through frequent urination. This loss of fluids causes extreme thirst.

Unexplained weight loss: People with diabetes are unable to process many of the calories in the foods they eat. Thus, they may lose weight even though they eat an apparently appropriate or even excessive amount of food. Losing sugar and water in the urine and the accompanying dehydration also contributes to weight loss.

Poor wound healing: High blood sugar resists the flourishing of WBC, (white blood cell) which is responsible for body immune system. When these cells do not function accordingly, wound healing is not at good pace. Secondly, long standing diabetes leads to thickening of blood vessels which may affect proper circulation of blood in different body parts.

Altered mental status: Agitation, unexplained irritability, inattention, extreme lethargy, or confusion can all be signs of very high blood sugar, ketoacidosis, or hyperosmolar hyperglycemia nonketotic syndrome or hypoglycemia (low sugar). Thus, any of these merit the immediate attention of a medical professional. Call your health care provider or 911.

Causes of Diabetes

In type 1 diabetes, the insulin-producing beta cells are destroyed by an autoimmune process, whereby the body’s immune system – its defence mechanism against disease – for some reason recognises the cells as being ‘foreign’ rather than ’self’, and therefore attacks them.

Type 2 diabetes is believed to have a strong genetic link, meaning that it tends to run in families. Several genes are being studied that may be related to the cause of type 2 diabetes.

Drugs such as steroids, Dilantin, and others may elevate the blood sugar through a variety of mechanisms. Certain other drugs, such as alloxan, streptozocin, and thiazide diuretics, are toxic to the beta cells of the pancreas and can cause diabetes.

Heredity is a major cause of diabetes: If both parents have Type 2 diabetes, there is a chance that nearly all of their children will have diabetes. If both parents have Type 1 diabetes, fewer than 20 percent of their children will develop Type 1 diabetes. In identical twins, if one twin develops Type 2 diabetes, the chance is nearly 100 percent that the other twin will also develop it
